The morning of October 24th in Walnut, California, brought great conditions for one of the biggest cross country events of the season: the 77th Annual Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational. With fresh fall air,and an excited crowd, it was the perfect day for racing. The meet brought hundreds of schools and thousands of runners from across California, packing the course and creating an energetic atmosphere, filled with anticipation and school spirit.
The Mt. SAC course, one of the most famous in the country, gave its usual mix of grueling rolling hills, difficult switch backs, and fast downhill stretches, a true test of strength and endurance. Teammates and parents lined every corner of the race, cowbells ringing and cheering as runners fought for position.
Our Chargers made their presence known, showing our school spirit in every event they participated in. Freshman Cooper Glynn had an amazing race in the Boys 3-Mile Division 3 Freshman Blue race, getting first place with a time of 17:31.80, running a commanding race against tough competition. On the girls side, senior Reese Tamburro continued her impressive season with a first-place finish in the Girls 3-Mile Division 3 Varsity Yellow race, leading the race from start to finish.
From the starting gun to the finish line, our Chargers showed off their hard work and team spirit. The day ended with proud faces and plenty to celebrate: a reminder that our cross country teams are stronger than ever.
Amazing job Chargers, and good luck for League Finals!
